OUR MISSION STORY
Who We Are
Public Relations and Crisis Communication for Professional Athletes- Managing Reputation in Sports: PR Training for Athletes" is a dedicated digital platform for athletes, sports organizations, and PR professionals. We specialize in enhancing athlete-media relations, crisis communication, and fan engagement strategies by merging cutting-edge theories into practical modules and solutions.
Theoretical Framework: This training platform is grounded in two key communication theories: Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) and Attribution Theory. SCCT provides a structured approach to crisis response by categorizing crises based on perceived responsibility—victim, accidental, or preventable—and offering appropriate response strategies for each (Coombs, 2007; Coombs & Holladay, 2002). Attribution Theory supports this framework by explaining how fans assign blame during controversies, whether to internal factors like an athlete’s choices or external factors such as situational context (Kim et al. 2020). Together, these theories help guide athletes in responding to public scrutiny with strategies that align with audience expectations and protect their reputation.
